Clean, spacious room on the Apalachicola River. Friendly, gracious service from the office that included a complimentary bottle of champagne and glasses for mine and my wife's anniversary. All rooms have excellent views of the river and a short walkway to Carolines, where complimentary vouchers for breakfast come with the room.

My family and I love this place. While that is an accurate statement, it in no way does the purpose of a review justice. We love the experience of staying here. For those with even the slightest idea of the history of Appalachicola, or, and perhaps better, the slightest curiosity about the beauty and history of the town and the surrounding area, then there is no better place to stay on the Forgotten Coast than the Appalachicola River Inn. They make it feel as if you are both a spectator and an intimate part of the community without even the appearance trying.

Enjoyed our stay. Wonderful..peaceful views..a great breakfast...close to everything..

Disappointed in many ways. No Wifi in our room. Room very small and not at all like what I anticipated from the web site. Breakfast was okay but a different menu for hotel guests than for "paying guests". Price per night high for what was offered in the hotel. Restaurant service was slow, staff for breakfast way over worked.

Very sad to see the state of this place. Have been coming here for years.... To see the condition and lack of caring is unbelievable. I have given it a 2-star simply because the view & location make most barrable. Also the grounds staff was polite. There is little maintenance going on. Holes in the room walls, cracks in bathroom, towels from yesterday tathered & torn. The outside is grown-up so the signs are not visible...the bar smells like rotten cigarettes. Caroline's food experience is terrible (The food was good....view great.) Took 2 hours plus for eggs & pancakes and service is so bad. Watched many people leave. Let me say my mother brought me here & loved this place. Her ashes are scattered in the Apalachicola River. Here is the issue 100% management. If the owners are on sight they need to sell it to someone that cares about the future of Apalachicola. If they are off site they need to have a thorough review done. I AM GLAD TO SPEAK WITH YOU. Then hire a new management team NOW. Hopefully you can be ready for a new season fitting your heritage in Spring 2018
